Revitalize Roosevelt

Help Shape the Gateway to Greater Burlington

Roosevelt Avenue isn’t just a road, it’s one of the most traveled, most visible, and most vital corridors in our region. It connects homes to schools, employees to jobs, and visitors to our community.

Now, through a regional coalition led by the Greater Burlington Partnership, we’re embarking on a multi-phase effort to reimagine Roosevelt Avenue for the future, and we’re inviting the community to help shape the vision.

What Comes Next?

Following the first round of community input, our engineering partner Snyder & Associates will develop three potential concepts for the revitalized corridor. The public will then have a chance to review and respond before a final plan is developed and presented to the Iowa DOT.

Be Part of the Vision

Roosevelt Avenue reflects who we are and where we’re going. Join us in shaping a corridor that is safe, beautiful, and built for the future.

Public Input Forum:

Monday, September 29th from 5:30 – 7PM | Greater Burlington Partnership Offices, 610 N 4th St, Suite 200, Burlington, Iowa

 Wednesday, November 12th from 5:30 – 7PM | Greater Burlington Partnership Offices, 610 N 4th St, Suite 200, Burlington, Iowa

A Shared Vision, A Stronger Corridor

In partnership with the Highway 61 Coalition, Des Moines County, the City of Burlington, and the City of West Burlington, this initiative will prioritize: Safety for all who travel Roosevelt daily, from school buses to semi-trucks | Efficiency to reduce congestion and improve traffic flow | Visual Appeal to reflect the pride and progress of our community | Business Support to strengthen commercial activity along the corridor
We Want Your Input

This planning process begins with the people who know Roosevelt Avenue best: you. We’re collecting ideas, concerns, and aspirations through an online survey and two public input sessions. Your voice will help guide the design of a corridor that works for everyone, now and for decades to come.
