The Beancounter Coffeehouse & Drinkery Wins Second Runner UP At The State Open 4 Business Pitch Competition

Downtown Burlington, Iowa – Congratulations to The Beancounter Coffeehouse & Drinkery for winning second runner-up and $7,500 at the state Open 4 Business pitch competition on August 1 in Pella. This is on top of winning $8,000 earlier this year and moving on as a finalist of the competition, bringing the total to $15,500.

When awarded the funds, The Beancounter, located at 212 Jefferson St in Downtown Burlington, Iowa, will introduce Boba Tea to their counter later this year! Boba (also called Bubble Tea) is a tea-based drink that originated in Taiwan in the early 1980s. This is another amazing drink option that the drinkery is bringing to the community.

This is the eighth year of the Open 4 Business contest, which is open to businesses in the 53 Main Street Iowa districts across the state.

The grants are administered through IEDA’s Iowa Downtown Resource Center and Main Street Iowa programs.
