Thyme & Spice Company: Micro Business of the Year

The Micro Business of the Year is awarded to a business that exemplifies passion, growth, and a commitment to creating something truly unique within our community.

This year’s recipient, Thyme and Spice Company, has created an experience unlike anything else in Greater Burlington.

What began as a small space has grown into a destination that stands out across our community. Now located in their newly renovated home at 612 Jefferson, Thyme and Spice has expanded into a vibrant space where every detail invites you in. From the restored tin ceiling to a curated retail space filled with spices, teas, oils, and artisan goods, it sparks creativity the moment you walk through the door.

What truly sets them apart is how they bring those flavors to life. Through their "Teastro", guests can experience bold combinations, from hand crafted tortillas to inventive dishes and hand shaken teas that elevate simple ingredients into something unforgettable.

Behind it all is a story of dedication. Every step forward has been hard earned through sacrifice and determination. That commitment has been recognized, earning top honors in the Open for Business grant competition.

Their impact extends far beyond their storefront. Through community support, partnerships, and experiences like the Spicy Book Club, Thyme and Spice brings people together.

Thyme and Spice Company is a one of a kind experience that enriches our community.

Congratulations to Thyme and Spice Company, the Micro Business of the Year.

Brueck Construction: Small Business of the Year

The Small Business of the Year is awarded to a business that demonstrates longevity, craftsmanship, and a deep commitment to strengthening our community.

This year’s recipient, Brueck Construction, represents nearly five decades of building not just structures, but a stronger Greater Burlington.

Founded in 1976 by Bob Brueck, this family owned business was built on hard work, dedication, and a vision for helping shape the future. Today, that legacy continues through a team that takes pride in every project, helping turn dreams into reality for families and businesses across the region.

For 50 years, Brueck Construction has truly been “Building Burlington.” From new home construction to renovations, their work can be seen throughout the community, helping define neighborhoods and support the growth of our city.

That commitment is especially evident in projects like Schramm’s Corner, bringing together upper story living and main floor commercial space, playing an important role in the revitalization of downtown Burlington.

Their impact goes far beyond the structures they build. Brueck Construction has been a dedicated community partner for decades, supporting local schools, organizations, and events, while investing in training and opportunities for the next generation of builders.

At the heart of it all is a culture built on trust, respect, and pride in a job well done. Many employees have spent decades with the company, reflecting the strong team environment and values that guide their work.

Brueck Construction is more than a business. It is a legacy of craftsmanship, community, and commitment that continues to shape Greater Burlington for generations to come.
