A Traveling Museum of Music
August 4, 2017, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Smithsonian Institution recording artists Bob and Sheila Everhart will present “A Traveling Museum of Music” from 10 am on Friday, August 4, at the Burlington Public Library. Their performance includes historically accurate stories, homespun humor, and little known facts, which took nearly three years of research. The Grammy nominated duo will present a consortium of the songs that were popular in rural America during the wars that American has fought in the style of music similar to the “Oh Brother Where Art Thou” sound. The duo have recorded six old-time music albums for the Smithsonian Institution’s Folkways Division. Their concert program was developed for and is devoted to a remembrance of all veterans of all wars. This program is a First Friday event at Burlington Public Library.
