Wellbeing Workshop Series
January 3, 2018, 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM
Wellbeing isn’t something to achieve and check off a bucket list. Instead, it’s an ongoing journey that varies with each person. Iowans can find their own way in a new program from Iowa State University Extension and Outreach – Des Moines County. “What About Me? My Wellbeing” is a four-week educational workshop series beginning January 3 in Burlington. The introductory, research-based program covers taking time for oneself, relationships, finances and physical health. Each workshop is 45 minutes and begins at 10:00 am at the Burlington Public Library, 210 Court Street. The remaining workshops are set for January 10, 17 and 24. To register for the program, contact Samantha Helmick at (319) 753-1647 with your name and phone number by December 27. Space is limited. “Wellbeing is a journey. Your needs will change depending on where you are in your life,” according to Patricia Steiner, a human sciences specialist with ISU Extension and Outreach. “We discuss taking time out of your busy schedule to reflect on the lifestyle choices you make to meet your own goals for your social, financial and physical health. It isn’t about us telling you what you should be doing. It’s about you figuring out what you should be doing based on your own goals,” Steiner said.
