Severe Weather Spotter Course

Learn to spot severe weather hazards, understand the structure and movement of severe storms, identify storm features and safety concerns and become a weather spotter if you choose - Des Moines County SKYWARN will conduct initial discussions with volunteers interested in becoming Net Controller and Net Support operators for the local team. This course is free and open to the public; the course is offered only one time per year in Des Moines County. The course is appropriate for all age levels, but geared toward adults and children older than 10. EMS personnel can earn .2 CEUs for this course.
Sessions are from 2:30 to 4:30 PM or from 6:30 to 8:30 PM; no pre-registration is required.
