Revisiting A Sand County Almanac: A Turkish Perspective with Dr. Ufuk Özdag

Please join us for a special program on Aldo Leopold’s International renown by Turkish Scholar, Dr. Ufuk Özdag of Hacettepe University, Ankara Turkey and is currently a visiting professor in the Environmental Studies Program Vassar College. She translated Leopold’s “A Sand County Almanac” into Turkish in 2013 and is the Founder and Director of the new Land Ethic Research Center in Ankara, TY. Dr. Özdag’s primary research interests include American environmental literature and comparative studies between literature and the visual arts. She has written several books including, Literature and the Land Ethic: Leopoldian thought in American Nature Writing. This event is sponsored by The Leopold Landscape Alliance and Friends of the Burlington Public Library. Light refreshments will be served following the program.
