Dress A Girl Workshop
August 10, 2019, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Do you enjoy sewing? Would you like to make a difference in the life of a child at risk? Dress A Girl Around the World, a program of Hope 4 Women International, has provided over one million dresses in 81 countries because "Every girl deserves at least one dress." The Des Moines County Historical Society invites anyone who would like to contribute to this nondenominational mission to come to the Historical Society this Saturday, August 10, for a presentation from Rick Mellinger of Operation Christmas Child followed by sewing (you do not need to know how to sew!), fellowship and a homemade lunch. Please bring sewing machines, sergers, ironing supplies, fabric and other sewing supplies you may have, as well as items to fill donation boxes for Operation Christmas Child, including school supplies, bar soap, socks, underwear, flip flops and small toys such as Hot Wheels. Items and materials may be donated at the Heritage Society whether or not you choose to participate.
