Every fall there is an election, whether it be area school boards, city councils, county positions, or state races. From the filing of papers to Election Day itself, the Chamber plays an active role in identifying business-friendly candidates. Part of that process includes hosting debates in which candidates are posed with questions presented by the government relations committee. Debates are held for primary elections (if necessary) and general elections. The debates are typically televised in order to give Chamber of Commerce members and the entire community an opportunity to get to know each candidate and their views on important topics impacting our community.
