The Burlington Bees invite you and your family to Community Field to experience the fun and excitement of minor league baseball. The Bees play in the Midwest League and are the only professional sports team in the region. The RecPlex features tournament class facilities for soccer, baseball, softball, and volleyball. There is also a guest service building that includes concessions and spectator plazas. League play and practices go on during the week, and various tournaments and special events take place on the weekend. Batting cages are open to the public. Part of the State Preserves System, this forested area contains limestone bluffs, three caves, prairie remnants and some endangered plant species. Built in 1922, this 18-hole golf course features 6,246 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 71. The course rating is 66.7 and has a slope rating of 110 on rye grass. The course, with watered fairways and cart paths, is located just north of Burlington. Tee times are available online.

Flint River Trail

Upon completion the Flint River Trail will connect the Mississippi Riverfront to Big Hollow Recreation Area. Approximately seven miles are complete, connecting Flint Bottom Road to Big Hollow Recreation Area. This section of trail includes roughly six miles of designated off-road trail that consists of a lime chip surface, with the remaining mile utilizing existing roadways. Three miles of trail is also complete along the riverfront, beginning at the Port of Burlington and continuing behind CNH. The next phase of construction will head east from Flint Bottom Road, through Starr’s Cave Park & Preserve and end at Irish Ridge Road.
