Starting A Business

The Burlington area has a strong history of successful entrepreneurs.  Although it can certainly be exciting, the process of starting a business can often be challenging and occasionally frustrating.

The Greater Burlington Partnership recognizes the economic importance of small businesses, and has partnered with the Small Business Development Center  to provide some key resources.

What About Funding?

Contrary to popular belief, very few grants are available to start a new business.  Although some assistance does exist, no program will finance 100% of a start-up.  Personal equity is almost always required, and a solid business plan is absolutely essential.

Your local banker is still the best place to turn for financing.
