Greater Burlington to Host Fireball Run September 26 – 27, 2017
Picture this! A legendary 8-day, 2,000 mile life-sized trivial pursuit road rally competition, filmed in real-time. Approximately 50 teams, consisting of major players across the country, will battle it out while taking the road less traveled to explore under-discovered places and obscure historic artifacts. All while aiding in America’s largest active recovery effort for missing kids.
The Greater Burlington Convention & Visitors Bureau is happy to announce that Greater Burlington has been selected as one of eight destinations to host FIREBALL RUN: Big Country, the show’s 11th season in September, 2017. Our community’s story will be told through the inclusion of history, attractions, and points of interest thus educating the participants and viewers. Greater Burlington will be featured in at least two 22-minute episodes.
“To be included in the 11th season of Fireball Run is a once in a lifetime opportunity,” stated Chelsea Tolle, Executive Director of the Greater Burlington CVB. “We will have the chance to showcase Greater Burlington’s story and our hidden gems to a national and international audience. The entire opportunity will be positive for tourism, economic development, and the local attractions showcased during the series.”
Multiple public events will be held in downtown Burlington as part of FIREBALL RUN’s time in Greater Burlington. In addition to the public events, missions for the teams to complete will take place at various locations throughout the community. More information will be released as details are finalized. The public is invited to attend the downtown events to help us show off our community pride.
Greater Burlington will also have a team participating in the entire 8 days of the series. Team Burlington will be assigned a child missing from the area to advocate for during the experience. To date, FIREBALL RUN’s campaign has resulted in the successful recovery of 44 children.
