Greater Burlington Remains a Top 20 U.S. Micropolitan
Burlington, Iowa. For the fifth straight year, Greater Burlington Iowa has been ranked as a one of Site Selection magazine’s top micropolitan statistical areas for total number of economic development projects in the preceding year, tying for 18th and claiming the area’s second appearance in the Top 20.
“Considering these rankings are compiled by the preeminent publication for the site selection and corporate real estate professionals responsible for making location decisions on communities such as ours, we are thrilled to be in the Top 20,” noted Jason Hutcheson, President/CEO for the Greater Burlington Partnership.
The ranking is part of Site Selection Magazine’s annual ‘Governor’s Cup’ series which ranks cities and states according to their economic activity in the prior year. Greater Burlington was Iowa’s highest ranked micropolitan, followed by Boone, Clinton, Fairfield and Muscatine, which collectively tied at 78th.
This ranking comes on the heels of yesterday’s announcement that Site Selection Magazine named Greater Burlington the #1 metro on the Mississippi River for new corporate projects per capita.
